IMSSG Privacy Policy

Summary: IMSSG uses school information to provide secure learning and school services. We do not sell personal data and the app does not contain advertising.

1. Who is responsible for the service

The IMSSG app is provided by International Modern School Sayed Galal, 5B and 6B Schools Area, El Shorouk City, Cairo, Egypt ("IMSSG", "the School", "we" or "us"). Privacy questions may be sent to admin@imssg.net.

2. Scope

This policy applies to the IMSSG mobile and web app, its school API, and the app features used by authorised students, parents, guardians and staff. School accounts are issued and managed by IMSSG; the app does not offer public account registration.

3. Information handled

• Account and identity: name, school identifier, username, role, grade, class and the relationship between linked family accounts.
• Learning and school records: courses, learning materials, attendance, grades, progress, quiz responses, assignment work and submission status.
• Communications: school requests, messages, replies and attachments that users choose to send or receive.
• Authentication and security: sign-in requests, session and refresh tokens, security events and limited technical logs needed to protect and operate the service. Passwords are transmitted securely to the school sign-in service and are not stored by the app.
• Device information: a push-notification token may be used when notifications are enabled. We do not use an advertising identifier for advertising or profiling.
• Files: learning files kept offline remain on the user's device. Files selected for an assignment are transmitted only when the user saves or submits them.

4. Camera and biometrics

Camera permission is used only when the user chooses to scan a student QR sign-in code. The QR image is processed for sign-in and is not saved by the app. Fingerprint or face verification is performed by the device operating system. IMSSG does not receive or store raw biometric data.

5. Why information is used

We use information to authenticate authorised users; provide courses, assessments and school records; deliver messages, requests and notifications; secure accounts; support users; maintain the service; and meet educational, safeguarding, administrative and legal obligations. Where applicable, processing is based on the school relationship, legitimate educational and security purposes, legal obligations, and parent or guardian arrangements.

6. Sharing and service providers

Information is available only to authorised users, authorised school personnel, and service providers working for IMSSG where needed to operate hosting, communications, learning and notification services. Providers must handle information for the instructed purpose and under applicable safeguards. Information may be disclosed when required by law or to protect students and the service. We do not sell personal data and do not share it for third-party advertising.

7. Storage, security and retention

Network connections use encryption in transit. Saved sessions use protected device storage. Access is limited according to the user's school role. Records are kept only as long as needed for the purposes above and any education, safeguarding, legal, audit or administrative retention requirements. Retention periods may differ by record type.

8. Student and children's privacy

IMSSG is a school service and may process student information, including information relating to children. Accounts are provided for the school community rather than offered to the general public. The School applies age-appropriate access controls and parent or guardian arrangements where required. The app has no advertising or behavioural profiling.

9. User choices and requests

Users can remove saved accounts from a device, delete offline files, disable biometric unlock and manage notification permission in device settings. A verified student, parent, guardian or staff member may request access, correction or deletion where applicable by following our data deletion instructions. Some school records cannot be deleted immediately when retention is required.

10. Changes

We may update this policy when the app, service providers or legal requirements change. The updated date will be shown on this page.
